Saito-sensei has been practicing Toyama-ryu, Aikido and Ryukyu Kobudo since 1986, and Shinkendo directly under Obata Toshishiro Kaiso who is the founder, director and chief instructor of the International Shinkendo Federation, an organization dedicated to teaching authentic Japanese swordsmanship.
Saito-sensei has founded the Bushido Tanren Kenkyukai organization since 2022 and is now overseeing the instruction and advancement of the core principles of kenjutsu and bushido at both the West Covina and Laguna Niguel dojo.
Rory McKay began his kenjutsu training since 2012 and has proven to be the most consummate practioner of kenjutsu under Saito-sensei's wing. Rory brings much clarity of instruction to the students of Bushido Tanren Kenkyukai with his fluency and acumen in the art. Rory is the current head instructor at the Laguna Niguel dojo.
Gary Chang has been a practitioner of Japanese Swordsmanship since 2000 beginning with kendo, then quickly transitioning into kenjutsu under the rigorous guidance of Saito-sensei. Gary now contributes decades of experience with kenjutsu training to the Bushido Tanren Kenkyukai organization.
